Combine Harvester Sales Leap in South Africa

Figures released yesterday show a near 30% jump in year-on-year combine harvester sales in South Africa.

Sales data from the South African Agricultural Machinery Association reveal that in the year to November 2012, 332 combine harvesters were sold in the territory compared to 256 combines the previous year. The figures point to a very substantial leap in South African combine sales of 29.7%.

Going forward, the Association described the sales outlook for agricultural machinery in general as “very buoyant”. This they attribute to firm grain prices and relatively modest international grain stocks.
